I watched the
commencement ceremony at Syracuse University and I must say, it was very moving. My recommendation to everyone is to watch or attend one of these events and prepare for the blast of optimism that will surely come your way. Both of my sons graduated from Syracuse, the youngest just last year and I attended both of their graduations. I enjoyed both events immensely and needless to say, am very proud of my sons accomplishments but there was another feeling that I didn't consider those days, optimism. I was too preoccupied with all that goes on with being the parent of a graduate, worry about their future, bills, would I ever find my car. Today, with a different perspective, I saw all the faces of those graduates, smiling and full of life and I couldn't but help feel optimistic about the future. Yes, big problems exist in our country and world but these kids and thousands more like them give me hope. Go get em, Class of 2009!
